Stannah Stairlift Prices: How to Compare Quotes
We don't publish other manufacturers' prices — but we can show you what to check, and what ours cost fitted.
Stannah is one of the best-known stairlift manufacturers in the UK, and plenty of people gathering quotes in Greater Manchester will get one from them. We're a local installer, not a Stannah dealer, so we won't quote their figures — you should get those from them directly.
What we can do is show you our own fitted prices and the four things that make two stairlift quotes genuinely comparable.

Prices are starting prices, fitted, and confirmed at a free home survey. Most buyers pay 0% VAT (chronically sick or disabled) or a reduced 5% (aged 60 or over, whatever your health) rather than the standard 20%.
Four things to check on any stairlift quote
- 1Is installation included? — our prices are fitted prices, so nothing is added for the engineer's time.
- 2What VAT rate is applied? — 0% if you're chronically sick or disabled, a reduced 5% if you're 60 or over. A 20% quote and a 0% quote for the same lift are wildly different numbers.
- 3Straight or curved? — a curved rail is built for one specific staircase. Compare curved to curved only.
- 4What's the warranty and who services it? — our reconditioned units carry the same warranty as new, and the engineers who fit them are based in Denton.
Our fitted prices in Greater Manchester
A reconditioned straight stairlift is £995 fitted. A new straight is £1,995 and a new curved is £2,995. Rental is £500 upfront, covering installation and the first month, then £50 a month. Those figures apply across all ten boroughs.
Reconditioned is usually the biggest saving
If cost is the deciding factor and your stairs are straight, a refurbished unit at £995 fitted is the lowest-priced route to owning one outright — and it's safety tested with the same warranty as new.
