Stairlift Installation Cost: What's Actually Included
Survey, stairlift, fitting, testing and warranty are all in the quoted price. Here's what can sit on top of it, and why.
Every quoted price includes a free home survey, the stairlift itself, full installation, testing, and warranty. The main things that can add to the base price are:
- Electrical upgrades: if your staircase needs a new socket for charging: roughly £150–£400
- Structural changes: identified at your free survey, and priced before you commit to anything
There are no fees added after the survey that weren't discussed with you first.
From survey to switch-on
- 1Free home survey — an engineer measures your staircase and confirms straight or curved, any structural or electrical needs, and your final price.
- 2Installation day — most straight stairlifts are fitted within a day; curved lifts, built to your specific measurements, may take slightly longer to schedule since the rail is made to order.
- 3Testing and handover — your engineer tests the lift with you before leaving and talks you through using it safely.
- 4Warranty and aftercare — cover included from day one, whether new or reconditioned.

- Will I be charged extra I wasn't told about?

- How long does installation take?
- Straight stairlifts are usually fitted within a day. Curved lifts can take a little longer to schedule since each rail is custom-built.
